I would like to take a moment to share with you, a cause that has really warmed my heart.
Heather Von St. James was diagnosed with mesothelioma; a rare cancer that kills most people within 2 years of diagnosis. She had just given birth to her daughter Lily, and was only given 15 months to live. After a life saving surgery that included the removal of her left lung, LungLeavin’ Day was born. On February 2nd, Heather and her husband Cameron celebrated 8 years of Heather being cancer free.
The purpose of LungLeavin’ Day is to encourage others to face their fears! Each year, supporters of this cause gather around a fire in their backyard with friends and family, write their biggest fears on a plate and smash them into the fire. They celebrate for those who are no longer with us, for those who continue to fight, for those who are currently going through a tough time in their life, and most importantly, we celebrate life!
When I read about what Heather and her family have been through, my heart went out to them. You can read Heather’s story here – Heather’s Story
If people could take the time to read about this cause, and take part by sharing the link to this site, I know it would mean an awful lot to this inspirational couple.
I wish Heather, Cameron and their daughter Lily all the happiness in the world, and hope that Heather has recovered.
I hope people are as inspired as I am by reading their story.
